2008 Nissan Altima Hybrid
For 2008 Nissan provided the latest in environmentally sensitive hardware - an Altima Hybrid. Featuring a 2.5 liter gasoline engine coupled to an electric motor, the Altima is quite a performer right off the showroom floor; both in acceleration and fuel economy. The challenge for this project was to improve the appearance, performance and fun factor without detracting from the fuel-sipping hybrid foundation. This mission was accomplished with the help of key aftermarket suppliers and installation partners, who combined efforts to create this trend-setting vehicle. A more agressive stance, better grip and improved aerodynamics result from the installation of Eibach lowering springs, 18" Rays ECO-Drive lightweight forged aluminum wheels and Yokohama's latest low rolling resistance S.drive performance tires from Wheel Warehouse. Adding to the sporting appearance is a graphics package from Auto Indulgence and heat reflective tint from Llumar, while Star Shield Armor paint protection film does as its name would suggest. Proceding inside, Al & Ed's Autosound and Alpine teamed up once again to create a stellar mobile entertainment system. The Nissan factory LCD screen, navigation system and audio controls were seamlessly integrated with a trio of high-power and lightweight amps, compact subwoofers and an array of Alpine speakers to provide clean and powerful music. Alpine's latest LCD iPod integration system, DVD player and XM Satellite Radio provide additional source material, some of which is visible on headrest and trunk lid monitors. The finished product is presently a feature at GreenCar.com: http://www.greencar.com/features/trends-customizing-hybrid-cars/ 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser
Toyota of Canada thought enough of the Webb Racing FJ Cruiser to feature it in an online video advertisement in 2007. It was also feautred in an issue of Car Audio and Electronics magazine that same year. Al & Ed's Autosound went to town on the SUV, designing a rugged audio/video system that includes and innovative forward-facing camera setup that enables the driver to monitor terrain immediately in front of the FJ in the event that a spotter isn't available. Nine Pioneer video monitors handle mutliple sources, including the dash-mounted DVD player and satellite navigation system. iPod integration and XM Satellite Radio provide cutting edge music, while a vast array of Pioneer speakers, amps and subs provide SPL. An All-Pro Offroad suspension system raises the FJ three inches, providing optimized clearance and control for the Axis Regulator wheels and Yokohama Geolander tires. All-Pro front and rear bumpers and rock sliders improve off road capabilities and appearance, while PIAA off-road lamps and headlights provide superior illumination. Finishing off the exterior is a Star Shield Armor paint protection kit and vinyl graphics from Auto Indulgence that duplicate the actual tread pattern of the Yokohama tires. 2006 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0T
The Webb Racing Volkswagen Jetta 2.0T was featured in a 5-page article in Car Audio and Electronics magazine, and took top MKV Jetta show car honors at DubFest in 2007. The mobile electronics system crafted by Al & Ed's Autosound in Brentwood, CA features a catalog full of Alpine Electronics components, including satellite navigation, DVD player, multiple monitors, amplifiers, subwoofers, wireless headphones and iPod integration, in addition to an Xbox system. Wet Okole neoprene seat covers and VW sport shift knob finish out the interior. 19" TSW wheels and Yokohama S-Drive tires are controlled by an Eibach Pro System suspension. A Flowmaster exhaust and K&N Typhoon intake provide extra air flow to the engine, which has been tuned by GMG racing software. Exterior enhancements include a Volkswagen aero kit and tail lamps, as well as an Intrinsic USA carbon fiber rack fairing, Star Shield Armor paint protection film and Auto Indulgence vinyl graphics. 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution RS
The Lancer Evolution is Mitsubishi's latest rally-bred supercar, featuring a turbocharged/intercooled 271 hp four-cylinder engine, all-wheel-drive, Brembo brakes, and special chassis preparation. In true race-car fashion, the special RS version is delivered with manual windows, door locks and mirrors, as well as no radio, air conditioning or sound deadening. Working with industry leaders and auto show exhibitors, the car will become a rolling example of what can be done to personalize an already stellar performer. Phase two of the project may see the car become an endurance road racing car, competing at such events as the Cal Club 6-Hour and the 25 Hours of Thunderhill. The Lancer is a bit of a homecoming for Webb, as he previously owned a Galant VR-4, Mitsubishi's original turbocharged/all-wheel-drive rally homologation vehicle (featured at WebbRacing.com), as well as an Eclipse GS-X.
